But the plants keep producing flowers and fruit. If you cut all the branches off wont that limit the production?

It looks like a Charlie Brown Tomatoe plant when you’re done, but it does work!!!

I loved the video, but the farmers need to explain to a new grower why they are putting up the wires around the tomato plants. Why are the tying the the strings I just as dumb as I was before I watched the video

Wouldn’t removing so much of the leaves allow the fruit to sun scald?
February 23rd, 2009 at 11:28 pm
The pots are outside, but I never see bee’s on them, maybe it is because there aren’t many bee’s anymore???? I have heard that up to 80% of bee’s on the USA have vanished in the past two years! Can I polinate them myself with a dry paintbrush?
February 26th, 2009 at 4:26 pm
are your pots outside thats the only reason i can think of your need to let the bees get to them

I use the earthbox and have more production than the tomatoe pictured and I only prune the suckers. I have video to prove it.

I am growing my garden in pots this year. I have tomatoes plants that are growing like crazy, I fertilize every week, but no fruit! lots of flowers that are not maturing into tomatoes. What can I do?!
March 2nd, 2009 at 6:23 pm
you are an idiot trimming *******. *** you.
March 5th, 2009 at 4:39 am
For an “expert retard” I would say that the plant looks good, and has nice tomatoes! Still, my understanding is that you need to leave leaves above the tomatoes to keep them from being damaged by harsh sun, and to photosynthesize.
March 8th, 2009 at 1:19 pm
Damn! Iv just cut off all my leaves! eEEK.
March 9th, 2009 at 1:19 pm
This guy is WRONG. Leaves make energy for the plant. All you have to do is remove the small growing tips, NOT the leaves.
March 9th, 2009 at 4:15 pm
Sorry about your tomatos. I can’t believe they’re telling people to remove the leaves! The leaves MAKE the energy for the plant, they don’t TAKE energy. LOL.
